I make portraits of the dogs who become family.
I’m Jeff Jenkins — a professional photographer and creative portrait artist based in Middle Tennessee.
I came to this work the long way. I served three years on active duty as an infantryman, including a deployment overseas, and photography became the way I learned to look closely and patiently at the world again. Dogs taught me the rest.
Why dogs matter
Dogs give us their whole lives. They are present for our quietest days and our hardest ones, and they ask for almost nothing in return. A portrait is a small way of giving something back — of saying this one mattered, and here is the proof.
Nervous dogs, energetic dogs, old dogs
I am not in a hurry. If your dog is anxious, reactive, bouncing off the walls, or moving slowly in their last good season, that is not a problem to solve — it is simply your dog, and your dog is who we are here to photograph. Sessions move at their pace.
