Signature Projects

Work the studio is built around.

Beyond commissioned portraits, two ongoing projects carry the heart of The Dog Form.

Why These Exist

Work that answers to no client.

A signature project is work the studio makes because it should exist, not because someone asked for it.

A commissioned portrait is made for one family. These two bodies of work are made for the record. The Hounds of Tennessee photographs the working hounds woven through this state’s history, in the studio’s low-key style, each portrait paired with the dog’s story. The Legacy Project exists for families whose time with their dog is short, so no one is left without an image of the dog they love.

Both are ongoing. Both are open to dogs I have never met. Neither one begins with a booking. They begin with a note about a dog.

The Hounds of Tennessee

A fine art tribute to Tennessee’s hounds.

Coonhounds and foxhounds run through Tennessee’s history. This series honors them. You can nominate a hound to be part of it.

The Legacy Project

Every dog deserves to be remembered beautifully.

A compassionate initiative offering portraits to families with senior and terminally ill dogs, so no one is left without an image of the dog they love.
