Coonhounds and foxhounds are woven through Tennessee’s history. They are working dogs with centuries of story in their faces. This ongoing series photographs them with the gravity they deserve.
Portraits, stories, and a record of a vanishing world.
The Hounds of Tennessee is part portrait series, part archive. Each hound is photographed in the studio’s signature low-key style, and each portrait is paired with the dog’s story. Where they run, who they belong to, what they were bred to do.
The work is building toward a published book and a future gallery exhibition.

Not every frame is solemn.
One afternoon in the studio, two hounds, a cowboy hat and a red bandana. It sits apart from the series proper, which is made in low key and made in earnest. But a hound who will wear a hat is still a hound worth photographing.
Every hound has a story. This series makes sure a few are never forgotten.
